What a week it has been saying farewell to The Oprah Winfrey Show. Monday and Tuesday were major celebrations at Chicago’s United Center, followed by yesterday’s finale, an inspiring yet somber and melancholic look back with Oprah and an audience made up of ultimate viewers who have never been able to get tickets prior.
Our favorite performance during the surprise spectacular goes to Kristin Chenoweth singing “For Good” from Broadway’s “Wicked.” This performance celebrates Morehouse College scholarships that are in Oprah’s name. Oprah is the Atlanta school’s single largest donor and her endowment is worth 12 million dollars. Because of this, over 400 “Sons Of Oprah” have been able to get an education.
Overall, Oprah has been responsible for paying for the education of 64,688 people since 1997.
Watch what happens during this incredible performance…
